Make Clint Eastwood's Day And Check Out His Stylish Car Lineup (2024)

Clint Eastwood is one of the biggest names in Hollywood thanks to his many decades in show business. The grizzled star made his name starring in spaghetti westerns like 'A Fistful of Dollars' and 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.' His success as The Man With No Name in the western franchise brought great box office success and launched the actor into superstardom.

In the 1970s, Eastwood starred in 'Dirty Harry' as the antihero Harry Callaghan. That no-nonsense role led to many similar parts in thrillers throughout the years before Eastwood swapped acting for the director's chair. He directed critically-acclaimed and award-winning hits like 'Million Dollar Baby,' 'Mystic River,' and 'American Sniper.'

Eastwood will go down as one of the most important actors or directors in Hollywood and his legacy will last forever. The actor was the benchmark for masculinity in the '70s and '80s which comes with certain expectations of his interests. One such interest is cars, and it would only be fair to label Clint Eastwood as a gearhead.

Let's take a look at Clint Eastwood's car collection that will certainly make the actor feel lucky for his success.

1972 Gran Torino Sport

Although it didn't appear until later in his career, the 1972 Gran Torino Sport is arguably the most famous car of Clint Eastwood's time in Hollywood. The actor made it famous thanks to his 2008 hard-hitting drama 'Gran Torino,' which saw his aging character take no prisoners in a tough neighborhood.

Although the protagonist is a cantankerous old man, he sure does love his classic muscle car. Eastwood's character in the film takes such good care of it that you just knew the wrong person was going to mess with it.

The American muscle car is an icon of its generation and one of the last before the great big block shortage of the late '70s. The production team managed to source it and clean it up for the movie, much to Eastwood's delight.

Once behind the wheel, it was a match made in heaven and Eastwood simply couldn't say goodbye to the Gran Torino when the movie wrapped. He bought it from the production company and added a classic to his collection.

1955 Austin Healey 100M

Although he wasn't always an all-action hero on our screens, Eastwood did enjoy some thrills behind the wheel of his cars. The Austin Healey wowed audiences at the 1952 Motor Show, and just a year later it was tearing up the track at Le Mans 24-Hours.

It was given the '100M' to show off its top speed, and by 1955 Austin Healey had produced a high-performance model. The 100M had stiffer suspension and 110 HP. Eastwood fell in love with the Austin Healey 100M, and he wasn't the only one. Steve McQueen also was an admirer of this car.

In 1958 Eastwood got his first acting role of note, in the western 'Rawhide,' and the same year he was pictured with his beloved Austin Healey 100M. Coincidence? Probably not.

1960 Jaguar XK150 Roadster

It seems that Eastwood developed a passion for British roadsters during his early acting days. The actor found himself behind the wheel of a 1960 Jaguar XK150 roadster off camera, but also on screen. Eastwood loved his 3.8-liter XK so much he gave it a starring role in his directorial debut flick, 'Play Misty For Me.'

Fewer than 10,000 of these roadsters were produced between 1957 and 1961 before it was succeeded by the highly successful E-Type. Coming before such an icon isn't easy, but the XK150 still holds a special place in the hearts of many Jaguar fans.

1932 Ford Roadster

Clint Eastwood grew up in a nice area of California, but that didn't mean success came easily to the legendary actor. He had a series of short-term jobs after leaving school, including a lifeguard role and a stint as a golf caddie. Because of those early struggles, Eastwood never managed to own the car of his dreams on his way to the top.

Eastwood adored the 1932 Ford Roadster, but it wasn't until the success of his acting career that he was finally able to reward himself with one. After years of struggling to break through, we can only imagine how satisfying it was for Eastwood to finally be in control of his Roadster.

1977 Pontiac Special Edition Trans-Am

Although the 1977 Pontiac Special Edition Trans-Am is more famous for another superstar of the 1970s, Burt Reynolds, it feels right that Eastwood should own one too. He initially drove a white '73 Trans-Am in the 1974 movie 'Thunderbolt And Lightfoot.'

Eastwood's character, Lightfoot, was an expert car thief who aided Thunderbolt, played by Jeff Bridges, in robbing banks. That '73 Trans-Am was just a taster for Eastwood, however, and a few years later he would be the proud owner of a newer model.

The Oscar-winning actor and director purchased a 1977 Pontiac Special Edition Trans-Am that was based on the iconic car from the film 'Smokey and the Bandit.' With a 6.6-liter engine and 300 HP, it's easy to see why Eastwood fell in love with one of the most famous movie cars of all time.
