The Great Jar Questline
Speak to the Great Jar to Reveal the Invasion Signs
To begin the Great-Jar's challenge of strength, approach the large figure and speak to it. After you do, there should be a prompt saying that the red summon signs are now visible, allowing you to call in the 3 Knights of the Great Jar.
Defeat the Knights of the Great Jar
Use any of the red summon signs to spawn in a Knight of the Great Jar. Defeat all the summoned adversaries to complete the Great Jar's challenge.
Warning: Dying or fast traveling away without completing all 3 fights will reset your progress. This means players will have to fight all 3 again until you can beat them in one sitting.
How to Defeat the Knights of the Great Jar
The Knights of the Great Jar will use the loadouts of real players if you play online. For players who want an easier time, playing in offline mode will spawn 3 basic Knights as shown below.
Note: While limited, going online and fighting the Knights is still a decent way outside of PvP to test your current setup against the builds of other players.
Knights of the Great Jar (Offline) | |
---|---|
1 | Uses a rapier and can cast Carian Phalanx and Magic Glintblade. |
2 | Uses a dagger equipped with the Ash of War: Poison Moth Flight. |
3 | Uses a heavy mace equipped with the Ash of War: Prayerful Strike. |
Receive the Great Jar's Arsenal Talisman
If successful, the Great Jar will reward you with the Great Jar's Arsenal talisman. Just like the Arsenal Charm, this particular talisman vastly boosts your maximum equip load making it perfect for builds that want a lot of poise and none of the fat rolls.

Lore and Trivia
Lore
- The Great Jar is a large Warrior Jar that calls other warriors to come to it and challenge its knights in single combat. Prevail, and it will grant you a talisman that allows you to carry more equipment.
- Warriors who complete the challenge can don the talisman and become Knights of the Great Jar themselves. This system ensures that an endless supply of Knights are available for each new challenger.
Trivia
- While impractical, you can keep farming the Knights of the Great Jar for runes as failing or fast traveling away will respawn their summon signs until you complete the challenge.
- The Guardian Golems leading up to the Great Jar can still shoot you even if you are in front of the Great Jar. Deal with them or remove aggro by reloading the game to ensure that your challenge is uninterrupted.
